Lenten Schedule 2010
Sacred Heart Parish feels blessed this Lenten Season with the opportunity to welcome both Catholics and visitors to our Parish as we prepare ourselves these 40 days for the Easter celebration.
Lent is a time of Fasting and Abstinence.
Fasting: One full and 2 small meals a day. Observed by Catholics between the ages of 18 – 59 years old on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday.
Abstinence: Observed by all Catholics ages 14 and up. Fasting is refraining from eating meat on Ash Wednesday, and ALL Fridays in Lent, including Good Friday.
EVENING MASS SCHEDULED FOR LENT
Beginning February 18th and continuing during the season of Lent, we have scheduled an additional Mass on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings at 5:30 PM. If the Masses are well attended during Lent, we will consider making them permanent. On March 4th, the Mass for the Year For Priests, the Mass will be bilingual and begin at 7:00 PM.
