FIRST AUXILIARY BISHOP ORDAINED FOR ROMAN CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF PHOENIX ON MONDAY, JULY 19, 2010
The Ordination Mass of Auxilairy Bishop Eduardo Alanis Nevares at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Avondale was celebrated on July 19 at 2:00 p.m.
Here is a short video of the newly ordained Bishop Eduardo Nevares at his reception. Blessings were given to many of the Faithful of the Diocese, including young priests and nuns.

The Holy See announced the appointment of Fr. Eduardo Alanis Nevares, vice rector of the College of Liberal Arts at the Pontifical College Josephinum, as the first-ever auxiliary bishop of Phoenix May 11. Bishop-elect Nevares celebrated as Mass with Diocesan Pastoral Center staff Bishop-elect Nevares, scheduled to be consecrated to the episcopacy July 19 at Ss. Simon and Jude Cathedral, will be the first Hispanic bishop of the diocese.
