There is a growing crisis of faith in the United States, Europe, and around the globe. So many people have forgotten God or abandoned the Church that Jesus started. It saddens us when we think of our neighbors and relatives that have left the Faith... maybe it’s a son or daughter, brother or sister, niece or nephew? A Catholic Organization that is addressing this crisis is Catholics Come Home. If you would also like help in talking to a loved one about coming home to the Catholic Church for Christmas, please contact Fr. Daryl or Fr. Art at the Church office.

What we're praying for this week -

  • 1. That proclaiming the message of God’s unconditional and healing love, Christians may help drive out the demons of prejudice and misunderstanding, let us pray to the Lord.
  • 2. That by making themselves servants to the people they govern, world leaders may promote the human dignity that is rightfully due to all, let us pray to the Lord.
  • 3. That those sick with various diseases of body, mind or spirit, may find Christ’s healing at the hands of those who assist in their recovery and in the hearts of those who care for them, we pray to the Lord.
  • 4. For those burdened like Job by anxious days and sleepless nights may know God’s comfort in their trials and the Spirit’s guidance for their future, let us pray to the Lord.
  • 5. That we, whom Christ has grasped by the hand and raised to new life in baptism, may use the healing bestowed on us in generous service to others, let us pray to the Lord.
  • 6. For all in the armed forces and for their families, may they always be touched by the Holy Spirit, let us pray to the Lord.
  • 7. That all government leaders might recognize and promote the inalienable right to life of every person from conception to natural death, let us pray to the Lord.

FOR VOCATIONS:

O Jesus, Good and Gentle Shepherd, grant that the men and women from our community may have the grace and the courage to hear and answer your call to priesthood and religious life. Give them the wisdom to realize that life is a gift. Let them realize that life is part of your plan. Call forth those you have chosen to spread the Gospel message, and help them to freely respond to a life of service in the Church. May the parents and families of our parish support and encourage our young men and women to search for, follow, and answer the call of God in their lives. Amen.

In Gratitude for Sharing -

Thank You

A heartfelt thank you to the
MONDAY MORNING COUNTING CREWS!

There are so many people at Sacred Heart who give generously of their time and service. We would like to take this opportunity to say !!Thanks!! to our Monday Morning Counters. These folks show up at 7:30 am every week to help count collections from our Saturday/Sunday Masses.

Volunteering as a Counter is a big commitment and we want our Counters to know we appreciate them more than the simple words “thank you” convey! God bless you for your service.

A heartfelt thank you to
the ALTAR SOCIETY, ART & ENVIROMNENT MINISTRY, & KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS!

A big thanks to the Altar Society and the Art and Environment ministries for all their hard work and wonderful talents in decorating the church during the Christmas season. The Sanctuary was BEAUTIFUL!

We would also like to thank the Knights of Columbus for the generous donation and work they did on Sr. Anne and Sr. Terri’s house. A new roof was installed, mold abatement of the ceiling was completed, and new drywall was installed.

Sacred Heart is fortunate to have such active and generous groups as part of our parish!

**********

Part of our parish mission statement is, “We joyfully live the Gospel”. Joyful living comes from Gratitude which then leads to service.

We are grateful to all the volunteers who share so many hours of their time and talents. We intend to periodically thank various members of the parish who are living this spirituality of Stewardship:

Cleaning of the entire Church: the Altar Society, Jose and Andrea Ramon, Claudia Jones, Jose Zepeda, Maria Sanchez, Bob Johnsen, Ray Ross, Mario Cruz, Mitch Anderson, Jackie Bateman, Sharon Swigart, Sally Russo, and Maria Cruz and Company.

Landscaping of the Sacred Heart Church/School: Carlos Madrigal, Al DeMorf, Jeanette Frank, Ginny Shugars, John Nunamaker,
JP Vicente, and a Special Thanks to Vicente's Landscaping for their years of service and dedication.

In the Office: Jane Thomas, Lila Holland, Nita Smalley, and Jackie Bateman

For the remodel of the church office reception area: Rick Buitrago and Oscar

This is only to name a few at this time; there are MANY more wonderful people here at Sacred Heart. There will be more special acknowledgements to follow in upcoming bulletins and on this website.

MORE THANK YOUs

On October 15th Sacred Heart School Gym was the site of the First Northern Arizona Citizenship Day workshop. This project was an example of putting our faith into action by serving members of our community.

Individuals with Legal Permanent Resident status, those who have had their “Green Card” for at least 5 years, or at least 3 years if married to a U.S. Citizen for 3 years, and who met other important criteria, were be assisted by trained volunteers of Sacred Heart Parish and other faith communities in completing applications for naturalization. This work protected the applicants from various types of scams and fraud that have occurred as well as avoid excessive charges from others who claim to be professionals. Some applicants have paid as much as $10,000 for assistance with no guarantee of approval.

Thank you for your prayers for the success of the event which has been embraced by local elected leaders, state legislators and our Congressional representatives as an important project for Northern Arizona respecting the Dignity of the Human Person.

It is no secret that Sacred Heart Parish, like most others, has been impacted by the current economic woes. This project could not have been as successful as it was without support from our local business community. We wish to thank those local businesses for their generosity in making this such a successful “first-time” event. IKON Copier Services donated the use of two copiers so that the applicants could make necessary copies of their documents. AIM Mail Centers provided passport grade photos at discounted prices for the applicants. Taco Don’s provided food for the Volunteers as they worked through the day. Without the volunteers of Sacred Heart Parish and the surrounding community, Citizenship Day would not have happened. The day was an example of loving God and loving Neighbor. This was a true community effort and example of living Gospel values.

For more information please check out the project on the internet at the parish website and at www.nacitizenship.com .
