The Care for the Earth ministry is committed to educating the Sacred Heart Parish community on ways to be better stewards of God's creation. Our ministry promotes activities that encourage the parish community to engage with Pope Francis' encyclical "Laudato SI" to learn about environmental issues and care for all of God's gift of creation by pursuing a sustainable lifestyle.
The ministry patterns its work on the teachings of St. Francis, who understood himself to be a brother to all of God's creation.
People with a passion for working to protect our planet and educating others are encouraged to join this ministry by contacting Char Hoffman at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 231-640-4712.

`Monarch butterfly conservation! Here are links from Desert Botanical Garden with many ways you can support the monarch butterflies right here in Prescott! Plant native milkweeds for their caterpillars and other native nectar plants to attract and feed them. Also, get involved in the Desert Refuge Program to help track monarch butterflies from September to June. Thank you!
